Overview

This course has been specifically designed for existing web designers who wish to expand their knowledge of website design. The course assumes a basic level of knowledge of website design equivalent to our Web Technology Fundamentals. This course is highly practical and participants are expected to complete a modern, dynamic, interactive, and responsive website as a course project.

Objectives

One main objective of this course is to upskill existing web designers from a basic level of website design to a more advanced level. Another is to enable existing website designers to design sites responsive to the latest devices and capable of being deployed as mobile applications using technologies such as HTML 5. Upon successful completion, participants are expected to understand and implement the following:

• Understand the CSS Box Model
• Develop responsive CSS layouts
• Work with CSS grid frameworks such as Bootstrap
• Javascript Programming
• Working with JQuery
• Developing dynamic sites using JQuery, AJAX, JSON, and templating systems
• HTML 5 Mobile Applications
• Introduction to Server-side coding using PHP
• Search Engine Optimization

• Web Technology Fundamentals or its equivalent
